Celebrate Halloween this year by handing out honey-flavored candies to the ghosts and ghouls knocking on your door! Several major candy manufacturers, including Jelly Belly and Gimbal’s, have capitalized on the ingredient’s popularity by introducing honey-sweetened treats that make for the perfect Halloween candy.
According to National Retail Foundation’s 2010 Halloween Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, conducted by BIGresearch, Americans will spend $66.28 on costumes, candy and decorations, up from last year’s $56.

“In recent years, Halloween has provided a welcome break from reality, allowing many Americans a chance to escape from the stress the economy has put on their family and incomes,” said Matthew Shay, NRF president and chief executive officer. “This year, people are expected to embrace Halloween with even more enthusiasm, and will have an entire weekend to celebrate since the holiday falls on a Sunday.”
Candy sales alone for Halloween are expected to top $1.8 billion with Americans spending an average of $20.29 on candy, the NRF says.
