Top Two Worldwide Candy Companies Sweeten with Honey

Candy Industry has named its latest Top 100 Confectionary Companies in the world, and the top two companies both produce products made with honey.

McLean, Va.-based Mars Incorporated successfully defends its No. 1 spot from last year, with $17.6 billion currently reported in net sales. Mars produces products such as chocolate bars, gummies, jellies, truffles, pralines and the Marathon Crunchy Honey Graham Bar, powered by Snickers, a Mars company. Each bar provides five grams of whole grains, five grams of protein and three grams of fiber. Mars has chocolate operations in more than 50 countries.

Mondelez International holds fast to the No. 2 spot, with $14.8 billion in sales currently reported. The Deerfield, Ill.-based candy manufacturer specializes in chocolate bars, hard candies, fruit snacks and energy bars. Mondelez’ Honey Made Lil’ Squares are made with real honey and have 10 grams of whole grains per 30-gram serving. This treat joins other made with honey products manufactured by Mondelez, including Honey Maid Honey Grahams, Honey Maid Cinnamon Grahams, Honey Maid Fresh Stacks and Honey Maid Angry Birds.

C-Ville Candy Company Honey Brittle

Honey brittle is a specialty of C-Ville Candy Company’s line of sweets.

The Orange Cashew Honey Brittle is made with orange blossom honey, and the Extra Toasty Peanut Brittle is made with clover honey. Using all-natural ingredients, the company hand-makes all of its original recipes in small batches and with large amounts of honey.

Candy making has long been a hobby of C-Ville’s owner David. He had been making candy as gifts for friends, which resulted in people wanting to buy his candy. The Charlottesville, Va.-based candy maker specializes in brittle, chocolates, drops and honey glazed peanuts.
