Baker Mills Kodiak Cakes’ new Buttermilk & Honey Flapjack and Waffle Mix is made with non-fat sweet cream buttermilk with a hint of vanilla. There is no added fat, sugar or cholesterol. The new mix joins the Flapjack and Waffle Mix-Whole Wheat Oat and Honey, which was Kodiak’s first product. The mix was based on an old family recipe. Both contain the same grains and honey.
Baker Mills officially started in 1994, but before then, a family recipe was sold to neighborhood folks in brown paper lunch sack in 1982. Grandson Jon, an elementary school friend and others tested a modified version of the family recipe, and Kodiak Cakes were born years later.
Ingredients: 100% whole grain wheat flour, 100% whole grain oat flour, non-fat sweet cream buttermilk, dry honey (honey, wheat starch), leavening (sodium bicarbonate, monocalcium phosphate), egg whites, salt.
