At the beginning of the year, Frito-Lay announced that half of their products would be made with all natural ingredients by the end of 2011. It seems as though they are well underway in keeping with that promise. Currently, Frito Lay is saying so long to three-dozen artificial ingredients in more than 60 snack varieties. Re-engineering their recipes has been a process of testing the new all natural products hundreds of times to achieve the desired flavor.

Honey will undoubtedly play a role in the “test kitchen” due to its ability to blend a variety of flavor notes and the fact that it’s nature made. Frito-Lay uses honey as a staple ingredient for naturally sweetening their Rold Gold® Honey Wheat Braided Twists and Honey Mustard Tiny Twist Pretzels. By the end of the year, it will come as no surprise to see honey as an ingredient in many more Frito-Lay products.
